Join NAIDOC 2021 Artist of the Year Sonya Rankine of Lakun Mara in a weaving workshop to learn traditional Ngarrindjeri and Ngadjuri weaving techniques. Create your own small basket or mat using natural and/or recycled materials - including potato chip bags!

Sonya Rankine is a proud Ngarrindjeri, Narungga, Ngadjuri woman and business owner of Lakun Mara. The key focus of Lakun Mara is cultural revival and maintenance of traditional weaving techniques and cultural practice. Lakun Mara means Weaving Hand in Ngarrindjeri language.

This workshop is proudly brought to you by Lakun Mara and Mama Jane Productions, with in-kind support from Post Office Projects Gallery + Studios.
